Christine DeLeon: SONG CLIPS & LYRICS

My Window

(Christine DeLeon)
(I once had the pleasure of a window in my third floor apartment on a hill overlooking my neighborhood and a beautiful mountain to the West. For a little over a year, this is the room where I wrote many songs and jammed with countless friends. I miss that room now and I still sing about it.)
I have a window in my room
I reach out to the neighbor sun and fancy moon
And it frames the whole world turning day to night
Over and over again
I can see a river of homes and the rooftops look just like stepping stones
On my way to the mountain where I chase the sunset
Stubbing my toe on a chimney now and then

It's a big big world I can see it through my window
I can watch it spin from inside
I know someday all this will be seen through every window
From a peaceful world far and wide

The thunder rattles all around
But the lightning doesn't make a sound
So she makes a messenger out of the wind
Whispering secrets she wants to share
Far below a train is rushing by
And the birds are singing to the sky
Every hour the church bells are reporting to me
Telling me how many people have been there

It's a big big world I can listen through my window
I can hear it spin from inside
I know someday all this will be heard through every window
From a peaceful world far and wide

Once we learned that it doesn't really pay
To disagree and argue with Mother Nature and Father Time
When we all treat each other the same way
Love and learn - the world will turn
And all will be fine

It's a big big world I can dream it though my window
What I watch and hear from inside
I know someday all this will come true through every window
From a peaceful world far and wide
