“ … an astounding vocalist, a skillful songwriter and a consummate musical communicator.” (Mark Schaffer, Folk Project Acoustic Getaway"

“Say the word ‘pure’ and two things come to mind: a beer commercial from a Rocky Mountain stream and the voice of singer Judy Collins. Time to add Christine DeLeon to that list.” (Kevin Coughlin, MorristownGreen.com

“ … lovely melodious voice only made one wish for more time with her.” - Daniel Jacovino, The Independent Press of Bloomfield

Often compared to the likes of Judy Collins and Joan Baez, it is clear why Christine DeLeon was chosen as a winner in the 2023 Folk Project Songwriter Contest, a finalist in the 2015 Rose Garden Coffeehouse Performing Songwriter Competition, a winner in the 2014 Recording Artists Development Singing Contest, a three-category nominee in the 2013 Jersey Acoustic Music Awards and a winner in the 2008 New Jersey Folk Festival Songwriting Competition.  Graduated summa cum laude with an Associate Degree in music, she has a solid educational background to accompany the career she enjoys.

Christine’s 2007 debut CD, January Hiding, was described by Ron Olesko of WFDU Radio as “… like a good book you just want to cuddle up with.”   Her 2012 CD titled “More” continued to offer what Christine does very well … clever songwriting, catchy melodies and toe-tapping arrangements built around a voice which Scott Sheldon of Sing Out! Magazine describes as "reminiscent of that of a young Judy Collins:  Powerful, crystalline and assured." “It’s a delightful collection of catchy original tunes that showcase her crystal-clear vocals and nimble lyrical skills” proclaimed Kevin Coughlin of Morristowngreen.com upon its release.

Described as a “wonderful entertainer” by Daniel Jacovino of The Independent Press of Blooomfield, Christine’s extensive performance experience includes First Night Morris County (Morristown, NJ), Rose Garden Coffeehouse (Mansfield, MA), Borderline Folk Music Club (New City, NY), Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club (Fair Lawn, NJ), Sanctuary Concerts (Chatham, NJ) and Troubadour Concerts (Morristown, NJ).  With her engaging as well as educational signature presentation, “Song and Dance of the Roaring Twenties,” Christine has captivated audiences at a long list of New Jersey public libraries including Chester, Middlesex, Bloomfield, North Haledon, Hackettstown, Rockaway, Chatham and Florham Park. The timeless and treasured music of the 1920s along with fascinating stories of the music makers and American Culture of the “Jazz Age” decade make Christine’s presentation a must-see.

Christine’s performances and informative workshops at NJ Uke Fest (Whippany, NJ), the NJ Folk Festival (New Brunswick, NJ), Festival in the Borough (Washington, NJ), Madison Holiday Arts Festival (Madison, NJ), the Vasa Park Taste of NJ Festival (Hackettstown, NJ) and the Folk Project Acoustic Getaway (Stony Point, NY) have delighted music festival audiences of all ages.

With skillful songwriting, impressive vocals and an unwavering connection with audiences of many musical tastes, Christine DeLeon has all the tools to get any performance job done exceptionally well.
